iSkysoft MKV Converter is a very good multi-format converter. It allows you to convert MKV and MKA files into a variety of other video and audio formats. It is not a great tool for conversion to MKV, since it lacks important features for that task. It also lacks an important feature for the conversion of MKV files to other formats. MKV files often have several audio and subtitle tracks. Although you can choose what audio track you want to keep when you convert files to other formats, you can't specify which subtitle track you want to keep. There is an option to add .SRT subtitles to any of the files that you add, but that means that you have to use another application to rip subtitles first. If you don't need subtitles, then you don't have anything to worry about.
iSkysoft MKV Converter is a very nice converter. It supports a great number of output formats, and it has conversion profiles optimized for a variety of devices, including the iPod, iPhone, iPad, AppleTV, Blackberry, Android, and Nokia phones, etc.
The converter performs quite well in the conversion process. I tested it with a few files, and I had no problems at all. The design is simple and intuitive. This application used to be a bit over $30, but it is now free.
